5.1 Infrastructure

Regarding infrastructure, Yirgachefe town is located on the Asphalt road of Addis Ababa- Kenya and it is connected to different towns in the Zone and neighboring areas. In the town there are 0.980 km Asphalt, 4km gravel, 6.5 km paved and 1 km Cobblestone roads and the remaining are compacted earth roads.  The town has 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service.  The source of water supply for the town is ground potable water, while the water is distributed through pipes distribution network and 8 public taps. To make the water supply of the town sustainable a project consisting of deep wells and 2 tankers is underway funded by loan from the World Bank, contribution from residents and the town administration.

5.2 Houses                                                                   

In Yirgachefe town there are 5,476 (871 low cost, 3497  private residence, 1052 commercial and 56 government offices and houses) built of different materials.

5.3 Transport

There is daily inter urban transport service to and from surrounding areas such as Edido and Haru towns. The town has a bus station. Intra urban transport service is provided with Bajaj taxis. There are two fuel stations and four garages in the town
