4.1 Urban Economy and Role of the Town

There are three manufacturing, 28 wholesale trade, 574 retail trade, 291 service, two fuel stations, two garage and 35 other firms in the town. All firms registered a capital 2,314,125.00 Birr. Unemployment rate for the town is 5.4%. Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and Dedebit Micro financial institution are available in the town. The major investment opportunities in the town are:- Tourism, Agro processing and fattening.
