The town is crossed by the national asphalt highway road from Addis Ababa to Diredawa and Djibouti.

There are private and government houses in Metehara town built up of different materials and used for various functions.

5.3 Transport

There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from Adama, and surrounding towns. There are Bajaj taxis giving intra-urban transport service.
