5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town used to connect by transport with the zonal capital Arbamich through Wolayita. However; currently, the new asphalt being constructed connects it to Arbaminich and Bulki. Sawla has road linkages with other towns. From Sawla to Walayita Sodo, Hosaina, Buta Jira 516 km; from Wolayita Sodo to Arbaminch 258 km, Zala 47 km, Basketo 51 km are some to mention.
In the town there are 30.2 km gravel, 49.5 km compacted earth road. The town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service having 300 Boxes and 251 customers. Regarding water supply there are 8km distribution network and public taps. The town has drainage lines, but are not sufficient and needs to be improved.
5.2 Housing
There are 5,535 built of different materials in Sawla town. Out of these 4020 are private residences, 1450 commercial and 65 government offices and houses. 95 condominium houses were built in the town. Out of these 75 were transferred and are currently giving service.
5.3 Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from the town and surrounding areas. Starting from the small town called Shefete which is located at 10 km up to Addis Ababa 516 km away there is a continuous daily transport from the town serving the residents and those who travel for work. The town does not have transport problems. The town has a bus station.
