4.1 Urban Economy and Status of the Town
The town serves as administration and trade center. The annual revenue of the municipality in 2009 is 3,136040.40 Birr while its expenditure in the same year was 6,423,297.55. The major sources of revenue were taxes, rent and service charges. In the town 133 investors with 323 million Birr have carried out development activities on 43.21hectares of land and created job opportunities for 1124 people.
Sendafa-Beke has economic linkages with the surrounding areas and towns in the region. The town gets grain products, livestock supply, natural resources (fuel wood, charcoal) from surrounding areas. The town is famous for its special lintel product.

Education
There are 11 private kindergartens; four government primary schools; one government senior secondary school, one preparatory, 1 TVET and one Government College and one university in the town.
Health
Regarding health services in the town there are 12 private clinics and one government health center and 3 pharmacies.
Municipal Services
Sendafa-Beke town has public meeting halls, abattoir, a general and cattle market. There are green areas, sport fields. Regarding religious services there are five churches for Orthodox Christians, and three mosques.
