1.1 Location

Batu town is located in Oromia National Regional State, in East Shoa zone, Adami Tulu Jiddo Woreda, at a distance of 160 Km from Addis Ababa. Its astronomical location is 7º 56’ North Latitude and 38º 43’ East Longitude.

1.2 Foundation

Batu town was founded in 1961. Batu is one of the reform towns in the region and has a town administration, municipality and two  

kebelles. Currently the town is categorized in 2B.
