Profile of City/Towns in Ethiopia

Introduction

 

Ethiopia is a landlocked country located in the Horn of Africa. Astronomically, it extends roughly from 30N to 150N latitude and from 330E to 480 E longitudes. Officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is the second-most populous nation in Africa with over 79.2 million people and tenth-largest by area with its 1,100,000km2. With Addis Ababa as its capital, Ethiopia is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Sudan to the west, Djibouti and Somalia to the east, and Kenya to the south. There are more than 973 urban centers and 13,751,569 million urban populations (CSA, 2011) which is nearly 17% of total population of the country.

The profile would be helpful to those who have interest on these cities/towns. It is worth noting that the profile is not as such exhaustive.
