1.1 Location

Holeta town is found in Oromia National Regional State, in Oromia Special Zone Surrounding Finfine at a Distance of 40 Km from Addis Ababa. Its astronomical location is 9º30’ North Latitude and 38º30’ East Longitude.

1.2 Foundation

The town was founded in 1901.

Holeta is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and eight kebelles. The town has structural plan which was prepared in 2007.
