Introduction
Robe town is currently in the early phase of urbanization like many other Ethiopian towns and cities. The history of Robe town is studied mainly based on the oral history from the elder’s informants of residents in Robe town. The secondary data regarding the history of Robe town is very few of the published and unpublished materials that are used as reference materials.
The contents that included in this document are the historical situation of the area and its early settlers before the establishment of the town, its establishment, the physical study and the socio-economic progress seen in different times and the cultural heritage of the area. Generally, this document indicates the profile of the town from the time of its foundation to the present real picture of its development.
Vision of the town Administration
The town administration wishes to see Robe the well developed town where social and economic problems are solved through efficient and effective implementation of good governance, democracy, investment and infrastructure provision to make the town the most livable city in the country by the end of 2020
Mission
The town administration works to solve the social and economic problems of the citizens based on their needs, the government policy and its implementation capacity to make the society beneficial from the ongoing development of the town.
