5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town has six inlet/outlet roads connecting it to different weredas in the zone, surrounding zones, towns in the region and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads in the town as per the type of construction materials shows that 18 km are gravel, 28 km asphalt, 11km decorative stone and 92 km compacted earth roads. The town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, mobile and fixed telephone lines, and has internet services, and a postal service having 1700 boxes. The main water supply source of the town are spring water and potable underground and distributed through piped network and public taps.
5.2 Housing
There are private and government houses in Wolayita Sodo town built up of different materials and used for various functions.
5.3 Transport
Wolayita Sodo has six inlet/outlet roads; due to this daily 500 public transport, government and private buses use these roads. The town has a bus station with a capacity of more than 100 buses at a time which was built before two years. There are taxis and horse-drawn carts for giving intra-urban transport service.
