5.1 Infrastructure

Regarding infrastructure, a road at a distance from Yirgalem that takes to Kibira Mengist and Negele Borana passes through the center of the town. In addition to this the town is connected to the surrounding Dilla and Chuko towns with gravel roads and the Addis Ababa-Moyale main road passes through the town.  In the town there are 16.83 km gravel, 12.9 km compacted earth road, 1.8km roads.

In addition to these the town has 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service having 310 boxes while the customer of the post office is 116. The town got water supply lines in 1980. 796 residents, 213 orgnizations and 23 offices have got distribution network and 6 public taps are giving services to the people. Though the town needs drainage lines, attention was not given yet and as the area is rainy by its nature it needs drainage pipes. Inter-town roads are not also paved well and they should be given attention. Though the town has a bus station, it si not properly handled and it is not clean.

5.2 Housing

There are 5247 (793 low cost, 3650 private owned, 51 government owned, 650 Commercials houses) built of different materials in Aleta Wendo town.

5.3 Transport

There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from Addis Ababa, Negele Borena, Kibire Mengist, Kebedo Dilla, Chuko and Hawassa. The town has a bus station. But it is narrow and the surrounding area is not properly cleaned and managed. Due to lack of intera- city road, there is no intra-urban transport service.  It is expected that when the construction of Kibira Mengist-Negele Brena asphalt road is completed, it improves the intra-urban transport of the town. In the town there are two fuel station and five garages providing services.
