The geographical area of the town is naturally sloppy and its altitude is 1950m above sea level. The climate of the town is classified as a mid land climate. It has a mean Annual Temperature of 18ºC; Mean Annual Rainfall of 1200-1670mm. January and February are the hottest months while July and August are the coldest months.

The principal natural constraints for the physical expansion of the town is hilly & steep slope in the northern part, due to high rain fall in the area there is major problem of flood, due to muddy character of the town the compacted paved roads are not suitable for vehicles to travel, narrow and unsuitable local roads, inadequate municipal services (potable water supply not accessed by all part of the town, no street light, low liquid and solid waste management mechanism, absence of recreation and greenery areas, slum areas, unorganized and absence of market center, low investment promotion, low revenue collection efficiency and lack of intra-urban transport mechanism).
