The Housing Department at the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure focuses on addressing the housing needs of Ethiopia’s growing population. Our primary goal is to provide safe, affordable, and quality housing for all citizens, particularly low-income families.
Key Functions:
Affordable Housing: Design and implement projects to construct affordable housing units for low-income families.
Housing Policy: Develop and enforce policies that support housing affordability, accessibility, and sustainability.
Rehabilitation Programs: Upgrade and rehabilitate existing housing to improve living conditions and ensure safety.
Partnerships: Collaborate with NGOs, private sector developers, and financial institutions to fund and execute housing projects.
Our Vision: To ensure every Ethiopian has access to a safe, affordable, and decent home.
Our Achievements:
Completed the construction of 3,000 affordable housing units, benefiting over 12,000 individuals.
Successfully rehabilitated 1,500 housing units, enhancing safety and living conditions for residents.
