1.1 Location
Korem is located in Tigray National Regional State, Southern Tigray Zone at a Distance of 620km from Addis Ababa and 163km from Mekele. Its astronomical location is 12017’’28’ to 12037’’50’ North latitude and 4059’’6’ to 501’’1’ East longitude.
Korem is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and three kebelles. The town has Integrated Development Plan.
