There are five government junior secondary schools, one government senior secondary, one government preparatory and one government TVET in the town.

 Health
Regarding health services in the town, there are three private pharmacies, one government pharmacy, one health center and one government hospital. There is one ambulance for emergency cases.

 Municipal services
Humera town has town hall, abattoir, and public library. There are general, cattle and daily markets meeting everyday of the week. Solid waste is collected using two dump trucks and three horse drawn carts and disposed in open dump. Micro and Small Enterprises are also involved in solid waste collection. Five public toilets are available in the town and liquid waste is collected using rental vacuum truck.

There are four churches for Orthodox Christians, one for Protestants and three Mosques in the town. There is also sport field, Tekeze river and standardized hotels in the town.
