PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TOWN
The area of Mambuk town is 460 ha and has rectangular shape. Its altitude is 1200m above sea level; the mean annual temperature of the town is 36ºC and Mean Annual Rainfall is 604mm. The major soil type in the town is Red soil. The prevailing wind directions of the town is from north to south.

The major natural constraints affecting the future development of the town are river, marshy and steep slope areas in north east and southern areas while the manmade constraints are informal settlement and urban-rural boundary conflict.
