Semara Logia November 10/2018

The 10th Ethiopian Cities Forum, which has been underway in Semera Logia since November 6, concluded today with the closing ceremony attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Ato Temesgen Tiruneh, the President of the Afar Regional State, His Excellency Haji Awol Arba, the Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, His Excellency Ms. Chaltu Sani, and representatives of participating cities.

The program concluded with the awarding of winning cities in various categories in which cities have been promoting themselves for the past four consecutive days. The winning cities in the various categories were awarded certificates, trophies, and televisions of different sizes depending on their level.

Accordingly:
In a competition held among 5 cities,
Wendo Genet City came in 1st place,
Meki City came in 2nd place, and
Yaye City came in 3rd place.

In a competition held among 4 cities,
Inseno City came in 1st place,
Alem Gebeya came in 2nd place, and
Bedele City came in 3rd place.

In a competition held among 3 cities,
Butajra City came in 1st place,
Holta City came in 2nd place, and
Wolqite City came in 3rd place.

In a competition held among 2 cities,
Jima City came in 1st place,
Hosaena City came in 2nd place, and
Dila City came in 3rd place.

In a competition held among 1 cities,
Adama City came in 1st place,
Bishoftu City came in 2nd place, and
Hawassa City came in 3rd place.

The city of Assosa, which submitted a proposal to organize the Ethiopian Cities Forum and was selected as the organizer of the next 11th forum based on the criteria of the judges, was selected.

Finally, the day’s program concluded successfully by presenting a special award to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Ato Temesgen Tiruneh, and the Ministers of Urban Development and Infrastructure.
