The minister said this in a press conference on the second day of the 10th Ethiopian Cities Forum, which is being held in the Afar region of Semera-Logia city, with the theme ‘Cities Growth for Ethiopia Excellence.
The Honourable Minister said that the forum made special sense to be celebrated during an era of high resurgence as a nation.
He said the government was working with a special focus to make cities green and livable, and that this effort has caused a great stir in cities.
He noted that constructive panel discussions are also taking place that enhance the competitiveness of the sector and alleviate challenges.
In a statement, the minister said cities that had previously been a show of poverty were becoming a show of prosperity due to the special attention paid to it by the government.
In particular, he noted that the development of the Corridor, which was accomplished in Addis Ababa at high speed and quality, has resulted in several legacies to the sector.
He said that corridor development has enabled the revival of industries, the creation of new jobs, as well as significantly altered work culture. He also explained that this development has led to the modernization of service delivery by increasing the activities and income of cities.
