The Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Urban Development has provided capacity building training to the sector’s leaders and experts on planning and monitoring and evaluation.

Speaking at the training, Ato Abera Amenta, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Urban and Regional Development, said that the training is very useful in making all operational systems faster and more efficient and preparing a comprehensive plan.

The awareness-raising training was given to the leaders and experts of the planning and budget program from the sector, Ato Abera said that they should make great efforts to improve the plans they plan and budget.

On the other hand, the Head of the Planning and Investment Desk of the Ministry of Planning and Development, Ato Ketema Fufa, stated in his document that the plan should be implemented with limited resources for the intended purpose in a responsible and accountable manner. He emphasized that the plan should be linked to human resources, programs and finance, taking into account existing capacities and changing circumstances, for the effectiveness of the plan.

The participants stated that a consistent planning and reporting process should be implemented from planning to feedback, that misleading reports should be eliminated, and that they had gained sufficient understanding of how to prepare a quality report and effective planning.

Ato Abraham Zenebe, Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at the Ministry, responded to and explained the questions and comments raised by the participants. He said that we should work together with leaders and experts at all levels to understand and support new practices that are emerging as guidelines and procedures.
