The Municipal Service Standardization and Modernization Desk of the Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Urban Management, Finance Services, conducted a recognition program based on the performance of municipal services in the 2018 fiscal year.

Oromia, Amhara, Southwestern Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Sidama and Southern Ethiopia regions participated in the forum.

Ato Desalegn Gemechu, the Leading Executive Officer of the Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Urban Management, Finance Services, who opened the recognition forum with a speech, said that as cities are centers of political, economic and social development, many development and good governance issues arise due to the increase in population over time.

He said that the leadership’s commitment to modernizing service delivery and implementing standards to meet the needs of the people has an irreplaceable role.

He also said that by learning from the experiences of cities that have implemented standards, we will work to modernize services and make service delivery online in the next 2019 fiscal year.

The performance evaluation feedback report on the day included the nature of the evaluation, the service delivery performance evaluation trend, service performance indicators, 2018 performance evaluation indicators, observed strengths and weaknesses, and the evaluation results.

Finally, recognition was given to cities that showed excellent performance.
