Kela City, 16th, 2018 (Kemli) The Kela-Tulubolo Asphalt Road Project has been fully completed and inaugurated and started providing services.
The inauguration ceremony of the asphalt road was attended by the President of the Central Ethiopia Regional State, His Excellency Endeshaw Tassew (Dr.), the Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, His Excellency Yetemgeta Asrat (Dr.), members of the Central Ethiopia Regional State Council and Cabinet at all levels, senior leaders of federal institutions, senior leaders of the Oromia Regional State, elders and religious leaders.
The President of the region said that the completion of the asphalt road and the commencement of work are of great importance, especially in resolving the citizens’ long-standing issues of good governance, strengthening economic, cultural and social ties, and enabling farmers to sell their produce at different times of the day and buy the goods they need for themselves.
The President added that when the government pays attention to the issues of peace, development, solidarity and the urgent needs of the youth and the vulnerable, which are raised by the society, and is able to respond step by step, it is certain that the people and the government will be able to stand together and ensure the prosperity of our country.
The Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Hon. Yetmegeta Asrat (Dr.) Mengsete, said that the completion and commencement of work on this asphalt road is one of the indicators that the government is paying great attention to infrastructure development in the 10-year plan. The road not only ensures the progress of civilization and national interests, but also promotes the country’s development and increases national pride by building infrastructure quickly and efficiently and handing it over to the community.
The Minister of State instructed the government structure at all levels and the entire community to play their part in the protection and maintenance of the road so that the construction of the asphalt road can bring together the distant communities and strengthen the social and cultural ties between the two communities.
The Kela-Tulubolo asphalt road project is 83 kilometers long and cost 1.3 billion Ethiopian birr to complete, as detailed in the inauguration ceremony.
