Addis Ababa, April 28, 2018 (From the Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure) The Urban Food Security Safety Net Office of the Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure shared its experience with a delegation from Angola regarding the overall status of the project, the work done so far and the results achieved.
The Urban Development Safety Net Project is a people-oriented and effective project that supports low-income, unemployed, disabled and elderly communities in 88 cities.
The project is funded by the World Bank and the Ethiopian government and focuses on reaching out to low-income communities in federal and regional cities, engaging them in green development, urban sanitation, urban agriculture and other environmental protection activities, and is an effective project among the government’s efforts to improve the livelihoods of the people.
The delegation will observe the environmental development and livelihood improvement projects in the cities during their stay, and will hold discussions with the World Bank and other officials, said Ato Berhanu Teshome, Head of the Urban Food Security and Safety Net Office.
