The Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure has signed a MoU with various higher education and training institutions to work together on public service and administration reform.
The Ministry is carrying out preparatory work for the public service and administration reform by creating various organizations, and in particular, the MoU was signed with the government higher education and training institutions to effectively implement the human resource qualification and evaluation system.
The institutions are Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa University of Science and Technology, Ethiopian Public Service University, and Ethiopian Institute of Competence and Management, while the Honorable Minister of State, Dr. Temgeta Asrat, is expected to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Ms. Chaltu Sani, said that the effectiveness of the government service and administration reform is greatly enhanced by working in partnership with stakeholders. She said that the reform is aimed at developing a fast, efficient and satisfying system for responding to citizens’ queries through digital technology, which is required by the times.
The signing ceremony noted that the responsibility of higher education and training institutions is to carry out module preparation, curriculum preparation, human resource qualification and assessment, continuous training, and assessment and reporting activities.
The heads of higher education and training institutions, for their part, stated that the responsibility entrusted to them is a legacy and they will do their part to implement the reform.
