Bishoptu, May 27, 2018 (Kemeli) The preparatory phase work of the Public Service and Administration Reform was reviewed in the presence of the Ministry’s leadership and the Qualification Framework Sub-Committees, as well as the leadership of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

The Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Ms. Chaltu Sani, highly appreciated the major activities carried out by various committees in the past 11 months regarding the reform and stressed that it should be completed by focusing on the remaining tasks that have not been completed, and stated that she is working more than ever to resolve the challenges that have not been resolved yet, in collaboration with the Technical Committee of the institution and the Civil Service Commission.

The Minister said that through the reform, the government is implementing a digital system to fulfill the trust placed in it by the citizens of the country accurately and honestly, and to ensure high satisfaction by providing fast and efficient services to urban residents, and to build a sustainable institution that is free and independent, accountable, and conducive to working across the country.

The Minister expressed her gratitude to the leaders and experts of the institution who are making significant contributions to this reform work.

The Minister noted that the reform should be a reform that transcends countries and generations, and said that the institution is a reform that will solve the fundamental problems of urban residents in a sustainable way by taking the experience of reform from different worlds.

On the other hand, members of the Ethiopian Civil Service Commission’s Monitoring and Support Team said that they appreciated the diligence and competence of the members in preparing the competency framework and organizational document prepared by the institution and said that the remaining tasks, whether it is the senior management or the committees participating in the study, should be completed and implemented urgently according to the deadline set by the Civil Service Commission.
