The forum was attended by leaders and experts from all regions and city governments. Speaking at the launch of the program, the Minister of State for Urban and Infrastructure Development, His Excellency Temgeta Asrat (Dr.), said that today’s Rural Road Connectivity and Access Program will help to maintain the strengths of the work and identify the problems and achieve the plans for the next fiscal year. In the past, a lot of work has been done in the urban development, tourism, industry and agriculture sectors, and he said that the rural connectivity road has an irreplaceable role in moving agricultural inputs and production from place to place. Most of the roads in the regions are rural roads, and thousands of kilometers will be built in the future, and there is a need to change the rural lifestyle based on local resources using various alternative options. Oromia, Amhara, Benshangul Gumuz regions, Agricultural Transformation Institute and Dire Dawa City Administration have submitted a four-month plan implementation report. The Head of the Rural Road Connectivity and Access Coordination Office for Food West Program at the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure Development, Mr. Mohammed, presented the program’s implementation of the 2017 budget and the four-month plan for the 2018 budget and the final report of each region.
