The joint statement is seen as a joint statement of position by the public and private sectors on the Construction Industry Transformation of Ethiopia (CITI 2025-2050). It was presented by the President of the Ethiopian Construction Contractors Association, Mr. Yusuf Mohammed.
The statement, as indicated, affirms the commitment and positive initiative of stakeholders to make the sector efficient, transparent, accountable, technology-enabled and globally competitive, recognizing that the construction sector is a pillar of national infrastructure and economic growth.
To ensure this, the joint position statement indicated that it follows guiding principles that include a systematic approach, shared ownership, transparency and accountability, as well as sustainability and innovation.
In the joint position statement presented by Mr. Yusuf Mohammed, he indicated that a common understanding has been established to work collaboratively and effectively on areas of cooperation and common commitments, governance and legal frameworks, professional qualifications and standards, project implementation and digital transformation, construction materials and safety, and implementation strategies.
