Anti-corruption day is being celebrated for the 22nd time at the international level and for the 21st time at the national level with the motto “Generation with ethics, institution with practice”.

The festival is being celebrated by creating activities that build the generation with good morals and make the institutions transparent and accountable.

The Honorable Mrs. Chaltu Sani, Minister of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, who started the program with a speech, said that as an international and national anti-corruption day, which is being celebrated with the theme of “Generation with ethics, institution with action”, it is necessary to shape the generation with ethics, not about other people, but about ourselves, not about other institutions, but about our own institutions, and besides giving importance to corruption prevention, it is necessary to mold the generation with ethics.

He emphasized that since the urban and infrastructure sector is vulnerable to corruption and malpractice, everyone should do work that reconciles with conscience, honors oneself and transcends generations.

According to Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Commissioner and Economic Cluster Coordinator, Ato Fqadu Seboka, today’s anti-corruption day is to create awareness and the top leaders of the institution will register their wealth and hand it over to the commission.

He stated that among the causes of corruption are corruption of attitudes, erosion of social values ​​and lack of transparency and accountability by the institutions and similar issues.

Mr. Faqadu said that corruption can be prevented by teaching, warning about the severity of corruption, including it in every activity, registering wealth, updating procedures, exposing, and recovering wealth.
