Harar, October 16, 2018 (K.M.L.M.) The Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure has inaugurated and handed over the houses built by the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure to the beneficiaries during the winter volunteer service.

The National Regional Government of Harar, in collaboration with various stakeholders, built and inaugurated the houses for eight families in the Sedat area of ​​Amar Noor district, through voluntary service in winter, and handed over the keys to the beneficiaries.

The houses were built at a cost of 20 million birr and handed over to the beneficiaries in three months. All the houses are one-bedroom and two blocks, which are important for living and urbanity, have been completed and handed over to the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Honorable Mrs. Helen Debebe, the Minister of State for Urban and Infrastructure, mentioned that the government has been carrying out citizen-oriented activities for the past seven years to facilitate the lives of the community.

Mentioning that the government is making great efforts to ensure food sovereignty for citizens, the Minister of State said that many people-oriented works have been done to create a clean environment and a comfortable life for the city dwellers.

Mr. Mukhtar Salih, Head of the Urban and Construction Bureau of the Harare National Regional Government, said that in order to ensure the journey of universal prosperity, the citizens living in poverty are expected to pay great attention and thanked the ministry and other stakeholders for their good work.

Finally, the keys to the housing were handed over to the users by the Honorable Mrs. Helen Debebe of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure and Mr. Mukhtar Salih, who is in charge of the Harari Region Urban Development and Construction Bureau.
