Urban Land Development and Management Bureau

Introduction
By organizing three departments under its authority, Land Development and Management Bureau was re-established in 2010 in a new way with the aim of enabling the sector to play an important role in the development of cities and building good governance by permanently changing the system of urban land development and management.

 

The three departments are:

  • Work based on the principles of transparency, accountability and truthfulness.

  • Always strive for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Always realize that I am in the process of learning.

1.1. Objective of the Bureau

The objective of the Land Development and Management Bureau is to establish a modern and effective system of urban land development and administration which enables the realization of achieving development, growth and good governance of cities.

1.2.    Mission of the Bureau
The Bureau aspires to see the realization of a complete, conducive for investment, and sustainable land provision; renovated and standard city environment; and a system of land development and administration as well as service delivery matching international standards in all the country’s cities in 2010.

1. Formulating land development and management policies and strategies and supervising their implementation after they are approved;

2. Drafting land development and management laws and supervising their implementation after they are approved;

3. Conducting studies that enable to establish an efficient and harmonized land development and management organization system and supervising their implementation;

4. Conducting studies on effective and efficient alternatives of renovating ramshackle and old slums in cities and supervising their implementation;

5. Carrying out activities that will enable to build capacity for the preparation of economic land that is complete and conducive for investment;

6. Studying effective ways that enable to establish a modern, efficient, transparent, and fair land marketing and administration system and supervising their implementation;

7. Building capacity for creating an effective system of land ownership census, registration and information in cities
