The Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, along with the sector’s public service and administrative reform initiatives, had its first-quarter plan implementation report for the 2019 fiscal year evaluated by management bodies.

The session was chaired by the Minister of Urban and Infrastructure, H.E. Eng. Mohammed Abdurahman. During the meeting, reports covering both regular operations and public service and administrative reform activities were presented.

It was noted that the report was prepared based on national directives and structured around 6 key strategies, 18 major activities, and 136 outcome indicators—all designed to serve as a development framework for the next three fiscal years. The implementation progress over the past three months was presented in detail. Regarding the activities carried out during the preparatory phase over the past three months (from Hamle 1, 2018, to Meskerem 30, 2019 E.C.), the focus was on the implementation of the seven reform pillars—identified by the study on public service and administrative reform—as well as two additional areas.

The management bodies deliberated on the submitted reports, providing their input and suggestions on matters that should be incorporated into the reports, as well as on issues requiring future attention.

In his concluding remarks, the Honorable Minister noted that, based on the reports presented, a significant number of activities had been accomplished over the past three months, starting from the planning stage. He directed that the plan for the next three months be reviewed and revised in light of the identified strategic goals. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to ensure the execution of planned tasks through close coordination and collaboration with stakeholders. He also provided guidance on working closely with the Civil Service Commission to ensure that these reform initiatives become an established institutional practice.
