Addis Ababa, July 8, 2018, (From the press) The Minister of Urban and Infrastructure Development, Honorable Yetgeeta Asrat (Dr.), received and spoke with a Brazilian delegation engaged in the construction sector at his office.

The delegation presented the infrastructure and construction sectors in which they were engaged. The Honorable Minister of State, recalling that the construction sector has been greatly stimulated by the special attention given to the construction sector and urban development by the Ethiopian government since the transitional government, said that Ethiopia is achieving results in the manufacturing sector, which is one of the five development sectors it has chosen, and that the delegation has come at the right time as our country is a country that is striving to meet its development needs.

He explained that the current needs of Ethiopia and the sectors they have identified as being affordable housing development and road sector developments are explained as they are also beneficial in the production of construction materials.

Finally, since this is the first relationship, he stated that there are projects that have been and are being implemented in collaboration with development partners, and that it is feasible to work closely to jointly solve the problems of finance, technology and resource provision.

The members of the delegation also expressed their satisfaction with the welcome they received and the fruitful discussions they had.
