The Honorable Minister of Construction, Temgeta Asrat (Dr.), who attended the discussion forum, said that the regulations and guidelines issued in the sector should be reviewed, reviewed and revised, and that they should be implemented without any questions.

During the discussion, Construction Industry Development Executive Director Engineer Mulualem Debebe presented questions raised during the training provided by the working group to construction contractors, professional associations and consultants on various topics, the draft Construction Registration and Qualification Guidelines from the Ethiopian Construction Authority, and discussion documents from the Construction Management Institute.

In this regard, it was said that considering the significant role of the construction industry in accelerating the country’s economic growth, establishing infrastructure networks and creating ample job opportunities for citizens, it is necessary to establish a modern and uniform regulatory system to ensure that construction projects in the sector are carried out in accordance with the expected quality, safety and cost-effectiveness principles.

He stated that a system that will provide access to construction industry information and resources in one place and solve 20 to 30 percent of the sector’s problems is also being worked on in the media.

The discussion was attended by heads of relevant institutions and sector leaders.
