5.1 Infrastructure

Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different woreda, zone, region and Addis Ababa. In the town, there are: 52.94 km gravel, 24.2 km asphalt, 50km cobble stone and 60.52km earth pressed roads. In addition to these; the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, mobile and fixed telephone lines, and has internet services, and a postal service with 1800 boxes. The main water supply sources are potable underground water with pipe system and there is also fourty two public water distribution points. The town has open ditch system to discharge storm water.

5.2 Housing

Houses in the town are mainly built of wood and mud. Wood, stone and Hollow Concrete Blocks are the widely available construction materials in the town.

5.3 Transport

There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from five towns. The town has bus station. Four city buses, 859 taxis including Bajajs and 1012 horse-drown carts give intra-urban transport service.
