Location
Metu town is located in Oromia National Regional State, in llu Aba Bora Zone, Metu Woreda, at a distance of 660 km from Addis Ababa. Its astronomical location is 8º 31’11’’ North Latitude and 29º 57’ 41’’ East Longitude.
Foundation
Metu town was founded in 1920.
Metu is one of the reforme towns in the region and has a town administration, Municipality and three kebelles. The town has structure Plan prepared in 2005.
