Location
Adama city is located in Oromia National Regional State, East Shewa Zone at a distance of 100 ከm from Addis Ababa. its astronomical location is 8º44’ North Latitude and 39º04’ East Longitude.
Foundation
Adama was founded in 1924.
Adama is one of the reform cities in the region and has city administration consisting of 14 urban and four rural kebeles. The city has structure plan which was prepared in 2004.
