5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different woreda, zone, region and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads as per the type of construction materials shows that 103 km are gravel, 10 km asphalt and 2.9 km cobblestone roads. In addition to these; the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services and postal service with 100 boxes. The main water supply source is potable underground water with pipe system and there are also twelve public water distribution points. The town has open ditches to discharge storm water.
5.2 Housing
There are 7909 private and government owned houses mainly built of mud and wood. Wood, stone, sand, and Hollow Concrete Blocks are the widely available construction materials in the town.
5.3 Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from five towns. 33 taxis including Bajajs and 630 horse-drown carts give intra-urban transport services in the town.
