5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different weredas in the zone and surrounding zones. In the town, there are four main roads. The distribution of roads as per the type of construction materials shows that 12 km gravel, 9 km asphalt, and 40 km compacted earth roads.
The town has 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and wireless, mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service are available. The main water supply source of the town is ground water distributed through piped network and 36 public taps. The town has five km open ditches to discharge storm water.
5.2 Housing
There are 5,919 residential houses in the town. The available construction materials are stone, brick and wood.
5.3 Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from ten towns (Gera, Sigmo, Sanama, Limmu, Shai, Gembe, Jimma, Choche, Badale, and Toba). There are also 50 horse drown carts giving intra-urban transport service.
