GENERAL BACKGROUND
1.1 Location
Agaro town is located in south western Ethiopia, in Oromia National Regional State, Jimma zone, Agaroo Woreda, at a distance of 396 Km from Addis Ababa. Its astronomical location is 7º 49’ North Latitude and 36º East Longitude.
1.2 Foundation
Agaro town was founded in 1818.
Agaro is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and six
Kebelles. The town has an Integrated Development Plan which was prepared in 2005.
