Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different woreda, zone, region and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads as per the type of construction materials shows that 92.89 km are gravel, 36.98 km asphalt, 13.114 km cobble stone and 126.66 km compacted earth roads. The town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, has internet services, and a postal service. The main water supply sources of the town are spring and underground water distributed using piped system 96 public taps. The town has open ditches to discharge storm water.
Housing
Mud and wood are the dominant house type by construction material while sand, stone, wood and blocket are widely available for housing construction.
Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from four main towns. On the other hand; 80 minibus and Bajaj taxis and 431 horse-drawn carts are giving intra-urban transport service in the town. The town has a bus station and Addis Ababa airport is found at a distance of 25 km.
