5.1 Infrastructure

Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different woreda, zone, region and Addis Ababa.  In the town, there are 9.5km gravel and 6km asphalt roads. In addition to these; the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services and postal service with 300 boxes. The main water supply source of the town is potable underground water distributed through piped network system and 50 public water distribution points. The town has open ditch system to discharge storm water.

5.2 Housing

There are 1,327 government, 11,528 private and 302 Condominium houses in the town. Majority of the houses were built of wood and mud. Wood, stone, sand, and Hollow Concrete Blocks are the widely available construction materials in the town.

5.3 Transport

There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from nine towns. 73 Bajaj taxis and 53 horse-drawn carts give intra-urban transport service.
