1. GENERAL BACKGROUND  
1.1 Location Areka town is located in South Nations Nationalities and Peoples Regional State, Wolayita zone, at a distance of 299 Km from Addis Ababa and 197 km from Hawassa the regional capital. Its astronomical location is 7º 04’24’’ North Latitude and 37º 41’30’’ East Longitude. 1.2 Foundation Areka town was founded in 1964.
